About five weeks ago, my wife and I adopted another dog from the Houston SPCA.
She is a short-haired Jack Russel Terrier. When we got her, we knew she had heartworms, but we had no idea what was in store.
It seems like with every step towards recovery, she continues to have other problems. On Saturday, we took in yet again for the second time for a follow-up regarding her continuous coughing. The vet was very optimistic and gave us a ton of hope that she is in fact getting better.
Almost as soon as we got her home, she started showing a new symptom. Seizures. If you have never seen a dog have a seizure, its one of the most terrifying things ever.
After some late night research done by my wife, we determined that there are any number of things that can cause canine seizures from something as simple as food allergies onto more serious things like distemper.
Lately, it just seems like two steps forward, one step back. We really hope that this is something that will subside and go away once we figure out the environmental condition that is causing the seizure to occur.
This post has nothing to do with design or art or music, but Dot has become a huge part of our lives over the past few weeks. We are hoping that she will recover from all of this. Thanks for listening...
